7 Incredible Camping Destinations to Ring in the New Year

There is some fantastic want to make this New Year’s an occasion to remember?  Pack up the RV and head out for a family vacation. We have found the locations that take New Year to the next level. Everything from firework displays to small-town festivals is waiting for you and your family to enjoy! Here are the best places to camp for the New Year.

Clarkdale, Arizona

This small town in only 2 hours from Phoenix and 25 minutes from Sedona.  You can find an entire day of activities from train rides to magic shows.  

Attend an afternoon aboard the Verde Canyon Railroad passing 20 miles including a 730-foot manmade tunnel.  In the evening head over to Blazin’ M Ranch Chuckwagon Dinner Show for a festive dinner and magic show.  You will be amazed by the magician’s sleight of hand, illusions, and stage presentations. 

Tybee Island, Georgia

Across the country lies a beautiful place on the East coast known as Tybee Island, Georgia. This incredible beach town gives you an awesome vantage point of the new year starting up.  They host a huge firework display that is one of the best on the Southeastern coast. Whether you are on the Tybee Pier or camping out on one of the various beaches, you will have a fantastic view with great weather. 

River’s End Campground is one of the best in the entire region and is right on Tybee Island. The RV spots fill up very quickly because of the popularity, so make a reservation early. 

Williamsburg, Virginia

Another one of those places that fly under the radar is Williamsburg, Virginia. Williamsburg is one of the most historical places in American and has a deep tie with our founding fathers. They take the Fourth of July and New Year’s Eve very seriously. This is a very family-centric celebration that offers tons of activities and food for all ages. 

The city hosts big gatherings with food, bouncy houses, and live music. 

One of the best RV parks in the whole state is in Williamsburg and is known as the American Heritage RV Park. Less than 10 miles away is downtown, where all the festivities take place.

    Live Oak, Florida

    Do you desire a livelier New Year’s celebration? The Spirit of Suwannee Music Park in Live Oak is where you and your family should call home for a few days.

    What may seem like a normal RV park at first is an all-out music venue that you and your family will thoroughly enjoy. Especially during the week leading up to New Year’s, full concerts are going on at the park’s Amphitheatre. This will be an action-packed and fun-filled time for the whole family!

    Paso Robles, California

    “Pass of the Oaks,” or Pas Robles is located in the coastal mountain range of central California.  You will be close to the mountains, beaches and deserts. 

    The Sun RV Resort is nestled in the heart of wine country, this resort has fun for the adults and the kids. While the parents can grab some wine and unwind, the kids will be busy eating great food, playing on jump houses, and exploring the campground.

    Especially if your kids are a little older, the Sun RV Resort is a perfect spot. Enjoying the property and the warm weather is a must this New Year’s.

    Panama City Beach, Florida

    A fantastic beach destination is Panama City Beach. This is one of the most popular parts of Florida and is a great place to ring in the new year. During the day, stroll the white sand beaches and dip into the warm Gulf waters. Once the sun goes down on New Year’s Eve, the festivities begin in the downtown area. Food trucks and live music fill the streets. They even have their own ball drop where they drop a beach ball! 

    Panama Beach RV Resort is one of the best campgrounds in the area and it will keep you just minutes from both the beach and downtown area.  

    Austin, Texas

    Austin is a cultural hub of the American South and has tons to offer to your family. Since it is the capital of Texas, there are plenty of things to do all year round, but they are amplified for New Year’s. This is the time of year when the whole city comes as one and celebrates the birth of a new year.

    The downtown streets are blocked off and filled with food vendors, shops, and artists all while live music is flowing through the air. 

    Some of the popular campgrounds in the immediate area include the Mystic Quarry Resort, Austin Lone Star RV Resort, and Pecan Grove RV Park. All of these locations put you within a short drive of the downtown fun!

    Las Vegas, NV

    Vegas is so much more than that just gambling and can give your family an unforgettable experience, especially on New Year’s. Every year, the city hosts one of the most impressive fireworks displays in the entire world. During the day, your family can visit Hershey’s Chocolate World, the Discovery Children’s Museum, and the Adventuredome. 

    The Oasis Las Vegas RV Resort just south of town offers an incredible view of the firework show. All you have to do is make an early reservation, then sit back and enjoy it!

      1. We are looking for a campground that celebrates family Halloween,site contest,site trick or treat ,music ,and also Christmas party family festivities.and for New Years festivities as well ! We would like to stay in the center Florida area or within 2 hour drive from Disney world

        1. I found Peace River Campground in Arcadia has its events listed on the website for 2021 including holiday celebrations. Let me know where you end up staying!

        1. Generally, I suggest parks for your family adventure. It will be social with RV neighbors, but still be private for you and your family within the RV.
          Here are some of my suggestions that are worth checking out:
