Renting a large RV for your next vacation will allow you to enjoy the spaciousness and comforts of home. You will especially enjoy some of the largest RVs if you are traveling in a large group or with a big family. We have a 35-foot travel trailer but you can find even larger rigs to rent. However, if you are traveling with many people, it is important to include enough beds and seat belts.

The largest RVs for rent are frequently luxury class A motorhomes, travel trailers, or fifth wheels. The length of large RVs varies from 35 to 45 feet and sleep 10-12 people. Some large RVs even sleep up to 14 people. The average rental rate is $205 a night and varies from $90 to $450 a night.

There are multiple types of large RVs available for rent. These include both drivable RVs and those that you tow with a separate vehicle. The most common type of large drivable RV is the Class A motorhome, which can be either gas or diesel-powered. These are the rigs that look like a bus for superstars.

The largest towable RV is the fifth-wheel trailer. This type of rig is towed with a u-shaped attachment in the bed of a truck. A bumper pull on the other hand is towed with a standard hitch on the bumper. Either way, you will likely need a 3/4 ton truck or more to tow a large trailer.

Some large RVs also have space for you to take along motorcycles and other large sporting gear. These specialized rigs are called toy haulers, and they are available in both drivable and towable versions.

Large RVs, especially Class A diesel motorhomes, are frequently considered luxury rentals, and with good reason. The larger RVs can not only offer the most space but the most homelike amenities.

Many of the larger rigs have “slideout” sections to expand their space when not in motion, a feature that has its advantages and disadvantages.

BTW – do you know all the different types of RVs and which is the best for you to rent? Would you rather a motorhome or travel trailer? Read more on the blog at Choosing the Right RV for your Vacation.
