What other Fees to Consider Before Renting an RV

  • familytravelfever
  • @familytravelfever
  • @famtravelfever

Campgrounds

On average, depending on the location, the space size, and the connections offered, campsite fees can range from $25 to $80 per night. Some campgrounds can offer you a resort-like luxury with complete amenities from plumbing and HVAC to electricity and appliances.

Amenities

Make sure to know what amenities are included with your RV rental. For example, you should check whether your rental comes with sheets and kitchen utensils or you should provide your own.

Mileage

Determining the mileage amounts included in your rental price is vital. If you’re planning to take an RV drive to far distances, you should know well what your mileage allowance is and how much you’re charged for the additional miles.

Cleaning Fees

Most RV rentals require a cleaning fee upon return of the vehicle. This is a reasonable fee to expect as RV can get dirty during trips, and the company has to get it cleaned and maintained to its pristine state.

Insurance

It is important to thoroughly check whether an insurance policy is included in the rental price to cover you in possible accidents or damages to the RV. You wouldn’t want to take risks in this area by being underinsured during your vacation.

If you want a fun way to explore the country and to have all the time you need, renting an RV is the best option to choose. Not only do you get a full experience of adventures, but you can also save money when renting an RV for a longer period.

Benefits of Long-Term RV Rental

  1. Your House on Wheels

A vacation can be exhausting rather than enjoyable when we think about all the traveling that comes with it. When RVing, you have your home on the road with you. Depending on the type of RV you rent, you can have the comforts of bed and linens, kitchen necessities, appliances, and more.

  1. You’ll Save a Lot of Money

RV renting can be a less expensive option than a stay in a hotel room. You can also cook your meals and bring snacks with you, which means you eat out less. Staying at an RV park or campground also lessens unnecessary activities and splurges on your trip.

  1. It Allows You to Try First Before Buying

If you ever plan to purchase an RV, trying out by renting one can help give you a taste of what RVing is like. Since it is a big investment and a big decision to make, you’ll have a clue about what RV living is like, and it can help you decide what kind of rig personally fits you best.

Important Questions to Ask Before Renting an RV for a Month

Do RV Rentals Charge for Mileage?

It’s easy to find RV rentals with unlimited mileage. But, some rental companies can give you a restricted number of miles and you’ll get charged for the extra miles you’ll take. On average, this can range from $0.25 – $0.75 per mile.

How Much Is a Down Payment To Rent an RV?

Some rental companies will request a deposit upon making your reservation. You will need to put down at least one deposit when renting an RV.

Does a Monthly RV Rental Come With Insurance?

Some RV rentals will offer insurance at an additional cost, which can vary between companies.

At Outdoorsy, any kind of RV or motorhome, trailers, campers, toy haulers, and other specialty or custom RV comes with insurance protection during its rental period. You have the choice to pick the insurance coverage that’s right for your trip. It can be Peace of Mind, Essential, or Risk Taker. Each plan has varied physical and liability protection.

RVezy also provides rental insurance for every trip. It offers a range of coverage options, road assistance, and a support team in case mishaps happen on your trip. It can be a Premium Coverage or a Standard Coverage, both of which offer the best quality of protection you need during your rental period.

Here are my in depth review for these RV rental platforms:

Which Option Is Cheaper: Renting an RV or Staying in a Hotel?

In general, there are significant savings in renting an RV over staying in a hotel. An RV can be a cheaper option in terms of accommodation and other expenses, and you can save hundreds of dollars on your trip. Besides, if you want an adventure-packed vacation, renting an RV is more convenient as you can enjoy the comfort of a hotel suite while traveling and anywhere you are.
